Mechanicsburg man steals from two different Kohl’s 3 times in 2 days

MECHANICSBURG -- A Mechanicsburg man is accused of stealing from two differen Kohl's stores three times in two days.

Shortly after 4 p.m. on Dec. 20, Christopher Heustess, 23, of Mechanicsburg, entered the Kohl’s department store accompanied by an unidentified male. The two men selected merchandise from display and Heustess took the items to the service counter where he fraudulently returned the items back to Kohl’s in exchange for store credit.

Shortly before 9 p.m. on the same day, Heustess and the unknown male went back to Kohl’s. Again merchandise was removed from display and fraudulently returned for store credit.

During the course of the investigation it was learned that earlier on Dec. 21, both males had committed similar acts at the Carlisle Kohl’s department store located at 226 Westminster Drive, in South Middletown Township, and that this case was being investigated by the Pennsylvania State Police.

Heustess was taken into custody by Silver Spring Police and Pennsylvania State Police without incident on the evening of Dec. 21 in Mechanicsburg Borough.

Heustess has been charged by Silver Spring Township police with two counts of theft by deception and two counts of criminal conspiracy. Additional charges from state police will be filed separately. Mechanicsburg man steals from two different Kohl’s 3 times in 2 days
