$1.3 million worth of heroin seized in York

Pennsylvania State police and the York County Drug Task Force arrested three people, following an eight month investigation, for heroin distribution and criminal conspiracy offenses.

Officers seized $1.3 million worth of heroin.

Information developed through the Operation Sunrise investigation, which was an 18 month heroin distribution investigation conducted by the Pennsylvania State Police resultied in the arrest of over 100 persons for heroin distribution and concluded in February 2013, led to the current investigation.

Since February, investigators have gotten information from suspects already in police custody and other sources. Police say the investigation led to three search warrants that were executed on October 16th.

Investigators served warrants at a home on Salem Ave. in York and an automobile repair shop/used car dealership on Chestnut St. in York.   A third search warrant was served at a home on Hunt Club Dr. in York Township.

Troopers charged Junior Gonzalez, aka “Omi”, age 36, of York with delivery/possession with the intent to deliver Heroin and criminal conspiracy.  Angel Barbosa, aka “Kiko”, age 31, and Julie Gonzalez-Morales, age 32, both of York are charged with possession with the Intent to deliver heroin and criminal conspiracy. 

Officials say Junior Gonzalez and Angel Barboza operate the business known as J&J Auto Detailing Shop.   

At the home on Salem Avenue, officers found unpackaged, bulk heroin, tens of thousands of bags used to package heroin; drug distribution related processing equipment such as screens, grinders and electronic scales and cash. 

Based upon the amount of heroin located and the manner in which it was being packaged and sold by those involved, investigators estimate the heroin’s street sales value to be in excess of $1.3 million.  Officials also found a quantity of marijuana with a street value in excess of $10,000.

At J&J Auto Detailing Shop investigators located cash and other records.  Seized from that location were 13 vehicles associated with the business. 
At the home on Hunt Club Dr. investigators located cash and other records.

Approximately $12,000 cash was seized as a result of the searches on October 16, 2013.

Two other persons, Jorge Gallardo, age 44, and Gerald Custodio, age 34, both of York, were located at J&J Auto Detailing and found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia.  Both were charged accordingly.  $1.3 million worth of heroin seized in York
