A two-year-old was found playing with syringes in a McDonald's parking lot in Lebanon.

On Thursday, police were called to the restaurant on the 1200 block of Maple Street for a well being check. The caller told police there was a man in the parking lot with a small child. The caller told police the male appeared to be sleeping and not caring for the child.

Police arrived and found the male and child in the parking lot. Police say the man picked up the child and put him in the rear of the car. An officer noticed the child playing with two syringes.

One of the syringes was uncapped and the needle was exposed and bent, a press release said.

The syringes contained a brown liquid later determined to be suspected heroin.

Police have Ray Lucas, 27, of Tower City, with endangering the welfare of children, recklessly endangering, possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was taken to Lancaster County Correctional facility on $50,000 bail.

The child was examined at a local hospital and released to other family members.2-year-old found playing with syringes in parking lot
