Reported by Chris Papst

Dallastown -- A former Dallastown teacher has been charged for sexually assaulting a 13-year-old female student over the past four years.

According to police, the sexual abuse started in 2009 when the girl was a 13-year-old student in the classroom of Christopher Boyer.

The 28-year-old former teacher from Red Lion faces a slew of charges, including institutional sexual assault and possession of child porn, which were pictures of the girl.  These charges stem from alleged sexual assaults that began in 2009 and went through this year.

Boyer was a 7th grade math teacher at Dallastown Area Middle School.  The 13-year-old was a student of Boyer’s when the alleged abuse began and continued after the student moved on.

According to police, the abuse happened in the school and also on field trips.  Boyer has not been a teacher since the end of the last school year.

He denies all the allegations against him.

Boyer was arraigned and released on $50,000 bail.  He is scheduled to be in court on October 22.

We called the school, but the superintendent is not making any statements.

We also reached out to Boyer’s lawyer, who has not returned our calls.
