YORK CITY -- Police now have a suspect in a murder from over the weekend in York and at the same time a group has come forward to help the victim’s young son.

This most recent killing in York is being seen as yet another senseless act of violence. And as lives are being torn apart one group is doing what it can to make the future a little brighter.  Around 1:30 Saturday morning, police say Jaime Sanabria was shot and killed at George’s Tavern on Broad and Walnut Streets in York City.

Now, police are looking for Halim Bowen.  The 23-year-old, who goes by the name “Budda”, is from York.

When Sanabria was killed, he left behind a young son. Now members of the community are trying to help.

The “Donation for a Destination” drive is for the son of Sanabria.

Its purpose is to raise money to help this child who no longer has a father. The group says 100 percent of the proceeds will go to the boy.

These are the designated places for drop off:  Tony Orrs Barbershop, Music&More, San Miguel Groceries and The Basement Barbershop.

A scholarship will be set up to help Sanabria’s son pay for his education.

Donations will be accepted all year long.

If you have any information on this murder, you are asked to contact York City Police.  A cash reward is available.  But you can remain anonymous.
