HARRISBURG -- A homeless indoor football player has been charged with DUI and possession of a concealed weapon after police say he was found parked in the middle of a two-lane highway passed out with his foot on the brake and his car in drive.

Eric Ducksworth, a member of last season's Harrisburg Stampede championship team, was arrested around 1:00 a.m. on Oct. 22 in the area of Front Street and Felton streets, Steelton.

When officers arrived, they say Ducksworth was asleep at the wheel in the middle of the road with his car in drive and one foot on the brake.

They woke Ducksworth and say he smelled of alcohol. He refused to take a blood test.

Ducksworth, 29, told police he had a gun in the glove box and police found a loaded Glock .45. Ducksworth does not have a license to carry a concealed weapon.

Named to the American Indoor Football postseason All-Star team, Ducksworth, a defensive lineman, said he had been living in a hotel but is now homeless. He is currently in Dauphin County Prison, unable to post $30,000 bail.

The 6'5", 330-pound Ducksworth is not believed to under contract for the 2014 season.

Police say Ducksworth was found guilty of carrying a concealed weapon in Wisconsin in 2010.

Ducksworth has also played for the now-defunct Chambersburg Cardinals minor league team.

This story has been updated to reflect Ducksworth status for 2014.
