Man arrested after stealing Domino's delivery car, and abandoning his child

HARRISBURG -- On Jan. 10 around 6:00 p.m.., Swatara Officers responded to the Dollar General Store on Eisenhower Boulevard in Harrisburg for a reported attempted car-jacking.

Dispatch told responding officers that a white male in his 30’s, carrying a small child, and a brown dog had attempted to steal a female’s car by ripping the key from a chain that was around her neck.

The suspect, Moses Fahnestock, of Middletown, 30, was unable to unlock the woman’s car then ran across Eisenhower Boulevard and stole a Domino's delivery car.

Soon after, police discovered the abandoned car in the parking lot of Toys R Us at the Harrisburg Mall.

A K-9 from Derry Township Police began tracking the suspect while officers were searching the area.

Steelton Police responded to a call that the suspect was at the Steel Mill. According to police, officers apprehended Fahnestock after a brief foot pursuit in which he abandoned his 3-year-old son. The boy is okay and back with family members.

Fahnestock has been charged with robbery of a motor vehicle, theft of a motor vehicle, endangering the welfare of a child, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, defiant criminal trespass and driving with a suspended or revoked license.

Fahnestock was booked at Dauphin County Booking Center on $15,000.00 straight bail.Man arrested after stealing Domino's delivery car, and abandoning his child
