Masked man commits four robberies in five days

Updated: Tuesday, October 15 2013, 05:18 PM CDT
Over the past five days, there have been four armed robberies in Mechanicsburg and Lower Allen Townships.

The Mechanicsburg Police Chief David Spotts says a man wearing a red mask, black hooded sweatshirt and gloves, is connected to all of them.  "This guy could strike at any time, but his MO is to go inside, confront the clerk.. He's not after customers."

The most recent robbery happened on Monday night at the Sun Up Exxon Gas Station in Mechanicsburg. The surveillance pictures of the suspect match the same description of the previous three robberies.

Video from the B&H robbery on Sunday night, hows just how fast the robberies happen. In 55 seconds, the armed man walks in, gets the cash and leaves.  "That's a traumatic experience for someone to have a gun pointed in your face.. Saying give me your money," Spotts said.

On Thursday and Friday, police say the same guy robbed the Pizza Hut and Lucky Mart on East Simpson Street.

The Chief wants people stopping at convenience stores on the West Shore to be alert.  "Pay attention to that little warning bell in your head-- it's better to drive off and find it was a guy buying a pack of cigarettes than the robber about to strike," Spotts said.

Spotts has one message to the suspect.  "Turn yourself in before it gets worse."

Police are also investigating a fifth armed robbery on the West Shore. This one was at the Aroogas in East Pennsboro Township. This robbery has not been connected to the other robberies. Masked man commits four robberies in five days
