Men wanted in Lancaster Co. car break-ins

MANHEIM -- One man was arrested and another is still on the loose, both wanted in connection with thefts from vehicles.

On Sept. 16, Manheim Township police were dispatced to a report of a vehciel break-in in the 1100 block of Elm Avenue. An officer in the area stopped two men in the 1400 block of Columbia Avenue. As he started talking to them, both fled westbound on foot, leaving backpacks behind.

The officer gave chase, but during the chase, both the suspect and the officer fell into some bamboo, which resulted in a serious injury to the officer's leg. 

The suspect fled, apparently uninjured. Responding officers discovered GPS units that had been stolen from two unlocked vehicles that had been parked in the 1100 block of Elm Avenue in the suspects' backpacks. 

The suspects were described as black males, between the ages of 17 and 21. One was wearing a red jacket with a matching red baseball hat and the other was wearing a dark-colored sweatshirt.
