WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Sen. Bob Casey, D-Pa, has introduced legislation that could help small breweries.

The bill would help businesses like Hershey-based Troegs by cutting the excise tax that small breweries pay.

"If this were to pass, it will certainly help Troeg's quite a bit, we would continue to be able to reinvest, build capacity and certainly add a lot more people to help us continue to grow," Chris Trogner of Troeg's said at a press conference Tuesday.

Casey says the tax cut would increase economic activity by more than $1 billion dollars over five years.New legislation could help small breweries
