If your planning on a New Year's Eve out and planning to drink alcohol, it's best to plan ahead of time, how you'll be getting around.

Perry County residents have the option of a designated driver, thanks to one couple.

The owner of the WeeWee Walkers Kennel says she takes care of dogs everyday of the year. But on this day, she's committed to taking care of her neighbors.

You hear lot of people say don't drink and drive but not too many say, hey, give us a call and we'll drive you home, said Sue Seltzer.

Sue's commitment began two years ago.  For the past two years, she hasn't really had anyone call. But this year, Sue decided to post the offer on her Facebook page and she says it's barked up some big interest.

Sue's received so much interest, she's put some friends on standby to help.   We do have several people located in different areas, so they are ready to stay home so we can give them call if we need them in that area."

Lorraine Wallett is one of those helpers.  This year I said Im offering to help go out, we'll be working in teams not alone and mostly men. So  we have nice little team going,

They have distributed their phone numbers at bars within the county.

If you're out and about in Harrisburg, you may have to depend on a cab if you can't find a designated driver. But the cab drivers we talked to say you need to put in for a reservation early. Most of them say they already have long lists of reservations, but they also say don't be afraid to go old school. They tell us you can hail one of the cabs that will be working on Second Street.

Many of the cab companies will be running until 4 a.m. to get residents home safely. They also request your patience and to avoid the urge to call another cab company if you are waiting longer than expected.

If you live in Perry County and would like to call Sue, her husband Scott or their group of designated drivers, call these numbers! 717-512-0072 or 717-512-3892. Perry Co. couple offers rides to neighbors on New Year's Eve
