Police arrest man wanted for car theft

Ephrata Police say a man wanted for for a car theft, has been arrested.

Police say Peter R. Ramirez, 38, of Akron, was arrested on Tuesday night in East Cocalico Township, after officers received a tip.

East Cocalico Police officers found Ramirez near a cemetery and a church on Gockley road around 10:45 p.m. He was taken into custody without incident and turned over to the Ephrata Police Department.

Ramirez allegedly stole the car from a parking lot at Turkey Hill on Hahnstown Road in Ephrata Township. Police say the owner of the car left the keys inside of it while he was shopping.  Police used video surveillance footage and witness statements to identify Ramirez as a suspect.

Ramirez was taken to Lancaster County Central arraignment to face the stolen vehicle charges.  The vehicle was recovered in Philadelphia city. Police arrest man wanted for car theft
