MECHANICSBURG -- An argument turned deadly when a woman ran over her roommate and then fled the scene, according to police.

Esther Brubaker faces charges including vehicular homicide after police said she used her vehicle to run over Jeremy Anderson in their driveway along Balfour Drive in Silver Spring Township Monday night.

According to a criminal complaint filed Tuesday, police responded to the home after a neighbor called 911 around 5:42 p.m. when he overheard an argument and then heard squealing tires, and witnessed the van running over a large object in such force that the passenger side of the vehicle was in the area.

Police determined the large object to be Anderson's body, who was found dead by first responders. Two children, one belonging to both Brubaker and Anderson, were inside the home at the time.

A man inside the home told CBS 21 News he was extremely upset over the situation.

"I'm at a loss for words, and I miss the kids and everybody," he said. "I didn't want it to end up this way." He did not provide his name, only saying he was close to those involved in the situation.

Police arrested Brubaker at a bar in Annville, Lebanon County.

Detective Jared Huff with Silver Spring Township Police said Brubaker voluntarily signed papers to be extradited to Cumberland County after admitting she was operating the vehicle and asked if Anderson had died.

Police tracked her down using her cell phone.

"It's a tool we have," said Huff. "Our priority is to get somebody in custody for a violent crime in this nature as quickly as we can."

Officers say they have responded to several disturbance calls at the home prior to Monday night's incident.

Brubaker remains behind bars tonight in Cumberland County Prison.

Police said the two children inside the home are in custody of Cumberland County's Children and Youth Services.

Brubaker will face a judge on Oct. 9 for a preliminary hearing. Police: Woman drove over roommate, killing him; then fled
