A registered Megan's Law offender, who is not permitted around children, is back in jail after allegedly giving kids bowls of candy, paper, coloring books and markers so they would come into his motel room.

Police say Carl William Sachette, was living at the Pike Motel on the Harrisburg Pike in Middlesex Township, Cumberland County. According to the criminal affidavit, officials received anonymous phone calls that a Megan's Law offender had children in his room at the motel.

An 11-year-old told investigators that she had seen Sachette in his motel room naked, while he had the door open. The 11-year-old and a friend also told investigators that Sachette was also seen waiving at them through his window, while he was naked.

Sachette also allegedly offered the 11-year-old and a friend candy and told them to come into his house. According to the affidavit, Sachette told the 11-year-old "the more you look, the more candy you can have," and showed the child pictures of his penis on his cellphone.

Officials interviewed five children and all five told investigators that "old man Carl" has two cell phones, one that he uses to talk and one with pictures. The affidavit says the children also told investigators Sachette had coloring books and coloring markers inside his room, that he gave them when they were inside his room.

Sachette is charged with unlawful contact with a minor, corruption of minors, indecent exposure and open lewdness. Registered Megan's law offender arrested in Cumberland County
