Students donate hair to Wigs for Kids on MLK Day

HARRISBURG -- Some local students gave back today, by giving their hair.
Some students at the Silver Academy in Harrisburg have been growing out their hair since last year.

Today, the ceremony to cut it off to donate to Wigs for Kids, a non-profit organization that gives wigs to kids who lose their hair while they battle cancer.

“It is MLK day. It’s a day of community service and for us it is a great way to give back,’ said Jackie Rubin with Silver Academy.

This is the first time the Silver Academy did this event.Students donate hair to Wigs for Kids on MLK Day
