Suspicious incident involving a child reported in East Pennsboro

EAST PENNSBORO -- Police are investigating a suspicious incident involving a child in East Pennsboro Township.

The East Pennsboro Area School District sent out a parent notification today, listing details of the incident.

"Earlier today we learned of an incident that occurred at East Pennsboro Elementary School on the morning of Sept. 16. A student was walking up the driveway during arrival time when a stranger approached and offered the student a ride. The student did not know the person and declined the offer," the release said.

"The person in the car then continued to drive past the student without any further incident. We have been working closely with the East Pennsboro Police Department to investigate this incident. At this point we know the following information about the car and the individual: The car was light blue in color and had a sticker of a bird on the gas cap, which was located on the driver’s side of the vehicle. The person driving the car was described as male having dark hair that was in a pony tail. The person also had facial hair," the release added.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call East Pennsboro Police Department at 732-3633.
