Three out of state men charged with burglary ring

Updated: Friday, September 27 2013, 01:09 PM CDT
Dauphin County District Attorney Ed Marsico announced that the Lower Paxton Township Police Department has filed burglary and criminal conspiracy charges against  three out of state men, who are alleged to be part of a burglary ring.

Cornelius M. Smith, 36 of Washington D.C., Cornell A. Cole, 50 of Clinton, MD and Troy E. Baker, 49 of Randallstown, MD were each charged with several counts of burglary and criminal conspiracy.

Officials say the burglaries happened during the summer of 2013 at various businesses in Dauphin, Schuylkill and Chester Counties. Five of the charged burglaries happened in Dauphin County.

The group allegedly traveled from out of state and would commit the burglaries in the middle of the night. The group stole thousands of dollars, police say.

Police from the Howard County (MD) Police Department, the Pennsylvania State Police and the Lower Paxton Township Police teamed up to catch the alleged burglars.

The three accused men are expected to be arraigned in the near future and are currently being held in the Luzerne County Prison on similar charges.
