Police say they have charged a man for allegedly pulling a gun at a youth football game on Sunday.

Police say Taruajay Jamar Hinton, 26, of Harrisburg has been charged with terroristic threats, simple assault and disorderly conduct.

"The parks are routinely safe and everybody has a good time.  This time an idiot showed up," said Dick Hammon of the Silver Spring Township Police.

On Sunday, at a at CFA midget football game in Stony Ridge Park, a verbal fight between fans of the Cumberland Valley Eagles and the York Bears turned ugly.

Police say the situation started during the game when a woman on one side of the field got into a verbal argument with a woman on the other side of the field.  After the game it carried over into the parking lot where Taruajay pulled a gun.

I would say it was alarming for a lot of people, added Hammon.

With the gun in his hand, police say, Taruajay threatened to shoot the woman.  He then jumped into a car and took off.  Shortly after the incident, this email was sent by the president of the Cumberland Valley team.

I was appalled and very disappointed by the actions of several fans and coaches of our opponents. I will not let this program stoop to the levels some of our opponents have gone to.  I should not have to explain to my 5-year-old daughter why someone would pull a gun at a youth football game and then why her dad ran towards it. - Mark Cekovich, president CVMFA

Then the commissioner of the entire league responded by sending this message to all 120 teams:

It is a wakeup call for the CFA. This adult behavior is entirely unacceptable. It could and will result in the expulsion of organizations, adults, and guilty persons. Thank God that nobody was hurt. Now we must prevent this from ever happening again.- Joseph Cribari:  CFA CommissionerUPDATE: Gun pulled at youth football game in Cumberland County
