Restaurant week kicks off in York Saturday night and CBS 21 has the scoop on great deals!

"We have a wild boar that we'll be serving up this afternoon," Marshall Pate, restaurant chef, Yorktowne Hotel.

Marshall Pate is the Yorktowne Hotel's chef.
The hotel is the kick off spot for restaurant week.
As we found out, 22 restaurants in York will give foodies what they grave.

"You will have to come out and sample it, you will have to come out and taste it," said Chef Pate.

"The first two years we started, we had about 10 restaurants and now we’ve doubled that. So the participation from the restaurants is really great and the response from the public has grown over the years as well. So this is the biggest year yet," said Meagan Feeser, organizer restaurant week, York.

Specials at certain restaurants in York include five and ten dollar lunches and three course dinners for 20 or 30 dollars.

“We’re also having a special event on Friday, February 28th where a lot of the downtown shops and boutiques are participating also. So it’s a shop and dine out night. So it’s restaurants, it’s small business, it’s the city, it’s all the shops, it’s everybody in York," said Feeser.

This winter was hard on local businesses, which hope restaurant week will give them a boost.
